The building has some historic charm that sets an interesting atmosphere, especially in areas like the grand staircase. The unique lock box entry system adds an unusual twist to the experience.
Peeling wallpaper and an outdated air conditioning unit with a visible exhaust tube disrupt any sense of ambiance. The hallways leading to the rooms were poorly lit and gave off an eerie vibe, while the elevator was out of service for an extended period. The carpeting is threadbare and faded, exemplifying a lack of upkeep. Rooms came with filthy windows and a general feeling of neglect, with missing hooks and no space for your belongings.

Couples seeking vintage charm
When I walked into the dining room, it was like stepping back in time , the white tablecloths and soft red chairs gave it a touch of class. The owners were friendly , and took time to chat with us during dinner, making it a nice experience.
It definitely wasn’t inexpensive , but given the character of the place , it was not a deal breaker.

Charming ambiance, but service hiccups
The place gives off a cozy vibe with its historic charm, and the waterfront views were a nice touch! Had a frustrating experience with slow service in the dining area. waited forever for our food. The bartender was super friendly, though, and made great drinks in the bar/lounge area. Just could use a bit of attention to service.

The historic charm of the hotel really captivated me. The King Room was clean, and discovering the wine waiting for us was such a delightful surprise. It made our honeymoon feel even more special. The directions for late check-in were straightforward, allowing us to settle in without any stress. However, when I stayed in the Budget Double Room for a previous visit, I faced some issues. The AC unit was powerful, but it disturbed the drapes, and I had to pin them together. Finding an opened bottled water in the room was unsettling and raised questions about the room's cleanliness. The hotel’s location near Ludington Park is fantastic, making it easy to enjoy walks along the waterfront. A few updates would improve the experience, especially considering the hotel's historic appeal and potential.

I stayed for 1 night in a Budget Double Room. The location near Ludington Park was super convenient. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed the historic vibe of the lobby. Everything felt interesting, but a bit more info on the history would have been nice. Overall, a good experience! 😊

The historic charm was evident, particularly in the vintage décor and ambiance. Plus, I appreciated the cleanliness of my room and found the organic vegetables served during breakfast to be a delightful touch. On the downside, the AC unit was quite loud and distracted from the otherwise serene setting. Additionally, the service in the dining area felt slow at times, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, there's potential, yet a bit more attention to detail could enhance the experience.

We had a lovely time enjoying the nice clean King Room and the surprise bottle of wine waiting for us, which made our honeymoon feel special! The cozy lounge area and fire pit were perfect for relaxing in the evening. The only downside was the dated feel of some amenities, but it didn’t take away from our overall experience. 🥂

We thoroughly enjoyed the stunning waterfront views and felt the cozy ambiance of our room added to our experience. The dining area had a touch of class with elegant table settings, making each meal feel special.
One downside was the peeling wallpaper in the hallways, which detracted from the overall charm.
